I know many woman who have embarked across the final female frontier of “the change” a.k.a. menopause.
Whether because of surgery, or chemical imbalances, or just “that time of life”, and it can cause a whole bunch of unpleasant “changes”.
One such change is “dryness” (you know where, but if you don’t…down in the private sensitive parts of a lady’s body).
Sometimes it can cause a type of dryness that causes the very sensitive tissues near and around the urethra to stick together. This can cause these already very sensitive tissues to be raw, painful, and inflamed. When this happens, the symptoms can even mimic a urinary tract infection (UTI).
Be Tested…
When these symptoms arise, always be sure to be tested for UTI. Yet when UTI is ruled out, the medical personnel may suggest, recommend, or even prescribe hormone cream.
Hormone Cream?..
Introducing hormones has both pros and cons, so measure your decision carefully.
The Better Option…
If it is simply a matter of dryness that causes the labial tissues surrounding the urethra to become inflamed and painful, and you don’t want to use hormones, try coconut oil. Yep, plain ol’ coconut oil.
When buying coconut oil, be picky. Be sure to buy good, high quality, pure, not overly-processed oil. (I like Tropical Traditions for all my coconut oil needs: my homemade body butter, wound dressing, etc.)
Despite the sometimes very strong recommendations from well-meaning doctors and nurses, coconut oil works just as well as hormone cream at moisturizing these delicate external tissues, without the possible cons of hormone cream. Just a little dab of oil, whenever needed, will do you.
Hope this helps! Onward fellow women warriors through this thing we call life. 🙂
Thank you! I don’t know if the unpleasant side effects can be reversed, but I’ll give it a shot. 😊
